Hi! My name is Brittany; I am a young lady dedicated to my Lord. I strive for ambition and am graduating high school two years early. I have been home schooled my whole life and especially like math and psychology. I am very interested in politics, and have a conservative, Constitutional viewpoint. I have started my own movement " The Ambition Movement". I want to see a new generation filled with ambition, people rising above the low expectations. It is quite similar to the Rebelution. I read the book “Do Hard Things” when I was 13; and was greatly affected by that.
Well now that is a funny question, I really like efficiency and schedule. I wake up at four in the morning, read my Bible and devotional book, get dressed, do my hair etc. Then at 4:30 I start my English. I like to start the day early; it may seem strange to start school at that hour, but I can really get it done faster, and there are less interruptions when I am the only one awake. Anyway, I do that that for about 20 minutes. Then start Government and and my AP Macroeconomics course. That takes fifty minutes; then I typically go into the “stove room” (where the wood stove is) because it is a lot warmer in there then my room; which is on the other side of the house.
I do what classes I have online, quick videos from Education Portal, Organizational Behavior, Psychology, US History, Social Psychology, Human Resources and more economics. Then at 6:30, I go into the kitchen to make breakfast for my Dad, and get his lunch, silverware and what not ready for him. I try to cram in a little Facebook in after I am done, before he leaves at 6:55. Then I let the dog out and put a load in the washer. I typically get my tea ready, do a little more Facebook; then after my tea is done; I will eat breakfast and drink my tea while I watch an episode of something; usually Star Trek. That is done at eight. Then I do my chores, do the dishes, uncover the plants, do laundry and what not, sometimes cook if there is time. Then at nine I do Spanish. At ten, I do my math and science. That is done at about twelve; then I do stewardship, rhetoric; or whatever electives I have at that time. I am almost done with those two; and will then be studying more for AP Macroeconomics and CLEP Psychology.
So at ,1 I am done; I like to finish what I can early. For the rest of the day I do extra chores, Facebook, write letters, cook, email, research, read, write, memorize verses, etc. I have been doing a lot of writing for my blog lately; and am trying to get published elsewhere. Anyway, all of this stuff actually takes quite a bit of time, especially since I am in charge of all the cooking in my house, with the planning, recipe hunts and preparing. Anyway, I like to read my Bible and then be in bed by nine.
Wow! There are SO many!
2 Peter 3:11
“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,”
I think this is something a lot of people need to remember!
Hebrews 10: 24-25
“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
Again, something that people of this day keep forgetting.
“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,”
2 Timothy 2:15
" Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Now this is especially a favorite of mine. I think that people really need to work hard at this, just because we are saved by faith and grace does not mean that we should not be trying our hardest to obey Him. As Romans 6:1 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
2 Timothy 1:9
“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,”
I have so many more favorites, but I had better stop here.
Do you have any favorite speakers? Is there anyone you look up to?
Well I really love R.C. Sproul, Ken Ham, Ron Paul and Alex and Brett Harris. I look up to really anyone I see living out their calling and purpose - people who live it out with enthusiasm and are not afraid to tell the truth, regardless of what people might think.
Let's talk books. What was the last book you read? What book made a lasting impact on your life?
Hmm….. I read a lot, I do not really remember the very last book I read, but it was just a fiction book. The books which have made the biggest impact on my life are the Bible, “Do Hard Things” and “The Practice of Godliness”. Such great books!
What are your favorite music? How about musicians and bands?
Hmm….. I really like folk, pop, Celtic, medieval chants, some rock, and stuff like that. I really like things like fiddling. My favorite fiddler is Casey Driscoll, and my favorite Christian folk artist is Nathan Clark George. For pop, I mostly like individual songs, not necessarily artists. Lately I have been liking Imagine Dragons and the Lumineers though. For Christian artists, I like Matthew West and Tobymac. But my favorite songs, artists, and genres change quite a bit; my overall favorite is probably folk though.
How about TV shows? Any particular favorite movies? How about YouTube channels?
We mostly just use Netflix and DVDs; no channels, so most TV shows I watch are old. Hmm….. I really like Star Trek (The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine) - I am an absolute geek with that! I also like Daniel Boone, Downtown Abbey, Andy Griffith, Gomer Pyle, Alphas, 4400, Christy hmmmm….. there must be more TV shows, but I can not think of any more. My favorite movies. As I get older my taste changes a lot; but I would probably say Avengers, Pride and Prejudice, Thor, North and South, Captain America, Wives and Daughters, Holiday in Handcuffs, Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia and Daniel Deronda.
My favorite YouTube channel would be GizEdwards.
Could you explain the Ambition Movement further? What are it’s goals?
Well it is quite similar to the Rebelution. The Ambition Movement is basically a bunch of people who believe that we need to be more ambitious, be role models to others; and are willing to take a stand; and rise above their expectations. Back in the beginning, people people were way more ambitious and hard working; I think we need to get back to our roots. Let’s graduate early, be mature and godly, anything really, not continuing adolescence. We are capable of more, so lets do what we are capable of!
I hear that you want to run for the Vice President of the Valiant Defenders. What vision do you have for our community?
My biggest goal would probably be to see the Valiant Defenders grow, while exceeding the quality. I want people to know what we are when they hear “Valiant Defenders”. I want to see more meetups and relationships among members. I want this to be a community; and I want members to be more active. I want to start up fundraisers; and I really want to see the future camp getting started.
A dance would also be really fun. I would also like to see real little communities of Valiant Defenders scattered amongst the United States, not just online. I think a dance, camp, or conference would be a good way to start it!
What do you think is your greatest accomplishment in life? How are you going to top it?
I would probably say starting the Ambition Movement, finishing 5 math books in a year, and doing all of high school English in one year. I will also be graduating 2 years early; but that is not finished yet. Hmm…. I would say I would probably say that what I would like for the future is to become a prolific writer and speaker, for people to know about the Ambition Movement, to make some sort of difference in the United States, and at some point get married and have lots of logical, patriotic, godly, and ambitious kids!
Is God doing anything in your life lately? Anything we can pray about?
I think God may be trying to show me what He has planned for my future. If everyone would pray for God’s hand in my life, and ask that he will reveal His will for my life to me; that would be great!
Any parting thoughts you would like to leave with our readers and members?
Do everything for God, liberty, and ambition!
