What's a typical day in your life like?
On a typical day in my life, I would be getting up for school. Doing my devotional, eating my breakfast and getting out the door in time for school. When I get home, I often either do campaign stuff or spend my time with my family. I am also very active all over social media so thats usually where I spend most of my “free time”.
I am working on a state representative race too. It is crucial we get good state representatives elected for this year’s Indiana General Assembly, because we have a bill that is the marriage amendment, which has been something I am passionate about. The marriage amendment would put it up to a vote on whether we want to allow homosexuals to marry in the state of Indiana.
In what free time I do have, I like to watch Law & Order SVU. My favorite movie would be “The Fault in Our Stars”. I like to listen to Christian music, it helps me relax on my most stressful days. My favorite books would be Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris, Not On My Watch by a close friend Monica Boyer and activist in my home state of Indiana. I also love to read Tea Party on Safari: The Hunt for American RINO by another close friend and activist in Indiana Greg Fettig.
Not On My Watch, and The Hunt for the American RINO showed me that you can make a difference in politics if you try. Do Hard Things has inspired me to raise the expectations for myself as a teenager and to get outside of my comfort zone.
I do want to run for office, I had first felt my heart tugging toward running just for chairwoman of my county Republican Party. But, I was on WOWO (The Pat Miller Show) this past February on my 16th birthday and I had shared that my mom has always joked with me about being a future Governor of Indiana. Since then, I’ve received a lot of good feedback about that, and now all my friends joke with me about it. I am definitely not ruling it out at this point but I do want to shoot for something more local for the first time around just because I believe at a local level you can make a difference.
Please continue to pray for courage, boldness and that more doors will continue to open for me at this point and that Gods’ will be done in my life. A lot of people have asked what my next adventure is and I am honestly not sure so prayer is appreciated for that as well!
